PTI Blog Hop, Cutting, Trimming & Embossing Challenge ..... all in 1

Hello everyone!!!!
I have been willing to participate in PTI blog hop for so many months now, but either I forget or something comes up. So today when I realized that its 25th day of the month I was pretty sure about utilizing this chance. I also loved the challenge for today's hop "to pick a favorite card from 2011 & to create a new card taking its inspiration". Well, you all know I'm a gr8 fan of rainbow colors. They are always awesome. So I had used these rainbow colors for Bargello Technique in Nov. Here is the card:

I'm taking color inspiration from this card for today's PTI blog hop challenge.  My second card is also a birthday card, But its a little different. I hope you all like it. Here is my card:

This is a real simple card. I took a regular A2 sized white card stock & embossed the front panel using "Cuttlebug : Swiss dots embossing folder". I don't own a Cuttlebug or any other fancy embossing machine but I learnt about embossing without a cuttlebug here at Priya's blog. So I tried it myself & was pretty successful. Then I cut out 1" felt circles using a stencil & pair of scissors & shaped them like flowers by making cuts at the borders to look like flowers. I pasted these felt flowers at the bottom border of the card. Finally came the sentiment. I have only a limited collection of stamps, so sometimes I feel as if I'm being repetitive in using them, so this time I wanted to do something different. I have a huge collection of stickers of all different kinds. I used K & Company vellum alphabet stickers to make the sentiment come to life. To finish with I adhered matching rhinestones on each felt flower except on the purple one I adhered a pearl instead. I completely loved the card after it finished. Here is a close-up snap of the sentiment.

This card is also a perfect match for Moxie Fab's  Embossing & Debossing Challenge and also Cutting & Trimming Challenge. I hope you all like my card. Thank you very much for taking your time to notice this card. Hope to hear again from all of  u soon. Till then take care. :)

PS: If my posts inspire you to create something on similar lines, I feel highly flattered. But please, do respect the effort I take in conceptualizing and executing, please give a direct link to my work when you are inspired by mine. Thanks for understanding........:-)

Make it Monday #47

Hello everyone!!!!
My first card post for this year!! I'm looking forward to loads of more crafting & fun this year..
Recently I came across Papertrey Ink blog "Capture the moment". I have been going through their video tutorials every week for past 1 month now, but as I was busy with exams & submissions I was not able to use their tutorials to create something new. This week's PTI challenge #47  includes a recap of all the past techniques, so I guessed this is the correct opportunity to grab .

Today's card is based on two of the 46 different techniques. I picked up Make It Monday #2: Vellum Sentiment Strip & Make It Monday #31: Creating Backgrounds with Non-Background Stamps. To begin with, I adhered a plain pink cardstock on a white background. Then I stamped the pink background with a generic stamp of  "a gift" all over. Then I stamped "Happy Birthday" from the Communique Curves Sentiments set from PTI on a vellum strip. I also stamped a birthday cake on a oval shaped vellum & colored it with color pencils. Just to bring the cake in view I pasted a white cardstock behind the cake & adhered the sentiment & the cake to the background using glue dots. To hide the glue dots for the sentiment strip I attached pearls over it.

Here is my card:

I know you all would love to see a few close-ups of the details, so here they go:

Thank you very much for taking your time to notice this card. Hope to hear again from all of  you soon. Till then take care. :)
